Booking a photoshoot is exciting but it’s completely normal to have questions before taking the next step.

To make things easy, I’ve answered some of the most common questions I’m asked before clients book their session. My goal is to help you feel confident, prepared and excited about your experience.

What Type of Photoshoots Do You Offer?

I specialise in lifestyle photography, including:

• Family

• Couples and Engagement

• Maternity and Newborn

• Weddings

My approach focuses on real connection, natural moments and relaxed experiences rather than stiff poses.

How Far in Advance Should I Book?

I recommend booking as early as possible, especially for:

• Weddings

• Sunset sessions

• Prom

• Weekends

• Peak seasons (May - November)

Some dates fill weeks or even months ahead, so securing your spot early ensures you don’t miss out.

Where Do Photoshoots Take Place?

Most sessions take place outdoors at locations with beautiful natural light.

Once you book, I’ll help you:

• Choose the perfect location

• Decide on the best time of day

• Match the setting to your vision and style

If you have a location in mind, I’m always happy to discuss it.

What Should We Wear?

Don’t worry - you won’t be left guessing.

After booking, you’ll receive:

• A detailed styling guide

• Colour palette suggestions

• Tips on coordinating outfits (without being too “matchy”)

Choosing the right outfits makes a huge difference in how your photos look and feel.

What If My Kids Don’t Cooperate?

This is one of the biggest worries parents have and I promise you’re not alone.

My sessions are:

• Child-led and relaxed

• Designed to allow movement, play and breaks

• Focused on connection rather than perfection

Some of the most beautiful images come from in between moments, not posed smiles.

What Happens If the Weather Is Bad?

If the weather isn’t suitable:

• We’ll reschedule your session at no extra cost

• I’ll stay in touch leading up to your session

• Together we’ll choose the best option based on conditions

Your experience and final images always come first.

How Long Does a Photoshoot Last?

Most sessions run for approximately half an hour to an hour.

This allows enough time for:

• Warming up

• Natural moments to unfold

• A relaxed, unrushed experience

I’ll guide you throughout the session, so you never feel unsure of what to do.

How Many Photos Will We Receive?

Each package includes a set number of professionally edited images.

You’ll receive:

• A private online gallery

• The option to upgrade to the full gallery

• Access to order prints, albums and wall art directly from your gallery

Everything is designed to be simple and stress-free.

How Are the Photos Edited?

Every selected image is:

• Carefully edited in my signature style

• Colour-corrected and retouched naturally

• Delivered as high-resolution digital files

I don't edit bodies. I will smooth and polish (get rid of bruises and blemishes), but I won't reshape you into something you're not.

My goal is to create timeless images you’ll love for years to come.

How Much Does a Photoshoot Cost?

Pricing varies depending on the session type and package.

All pricing includes:

• Pre session guidance and planning

• The photoshoot itself

• Professional editing

• An online gallery and print store

Why Should We Hire a Professional Photographer?

Because these moments don’t last forever.

Professional photography gives you:

• Memories you can’t recreate

• Photos you’ll display and treasure

• An experience designed to feel easy and enjoyable

• Images that grow more valuable over time

I've written another blog diving into this question. You can check it out here.
